The School of Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full time, Tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor position in Nursing beginning August 2011.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effective teaching (classroom and clinical), scholarship, professional development, service, and advising. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester. The ideal candidate will seek an academic career in a comprehensive college that emphasizes teaching and learning in a teacher-scholar model. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing or related field, a master’s degree in nursing, and expertise in a clinical population area, preferably adult health or gerontology. Preference will be given to certified Family or Adult Nurse Practitioners and/or certified Clinical Nurse Leaders and candidates with faculty experience, a beginning track record of scholarship, and experience with RN to BSN/MSN education. Experience in clinical simulation, genetics/genomics, student-faculty research and innovative pedagogies is also valued. Candidates must be eligible for licensure through the New Jersey Board of Nursing. There are 12 full-time nursing faculty lines, approximately 300 undergraduate students, and 40 graduate students. Aspirant goals for nursing include developing enhanced learning experiences through faculty-student research, global experiences, and interdisciplinary coursework.
